Estate Planning and Administration

The assets and property interests you leave behind make up your estate.  In order to ensure that your assets and property interests are distributed according to your intentions instead of the state’s intestacy laws, it is necessary to take the time to plan how your estate will be handled.

Estate Planning

The estate planning attorneys at Bruno Law will help you develop a comprehensive estate plan so that your assets will be distributed according to your wishes.  Our firm handles the following estate planning matters:

Probate and Estate Administration

After someone has passed, the estate must undergo a process called probate and estate administration.  This process involves specific procedures and requirements that must be followed for collecting assets, paying off obligations, such as debts, expenses, and taxes, and distributing the remaining property to heirs and beneficiaries according to the decedent’s will.  If a decedent passes without a will, the decedent’s assets will be allocated according to the statutory scheme of distribution per state law.  If you are an Executor or an Administrator of an estate, the probate and estate administration attorneys at Bruno Law will walk you through each step of the process to ensure that it is completed correctly and as smoothly as possible.

Estate Litigation/Will Contests

When there is a will contest, you need the advice of an experienced probate attorney to make sure that your rights and interests are fully protected.  If you feel that an estate you have an interest in has been improperly distributed or that the will does not accurately reflect the true wishes of the decedent, the will contest attorneys at Bruno Law will defend your interests.
